Garden Planters
I wanted to smarten up the front of my house and decided to make some planters to go either side if the frond door.
For exterior project treated timber is always better but I some pine so used that and painted it at the end. I based the size around some plastic tubs I had. They will sit inside so the soil never comes into contact with the wood.

I joined it all together using dowels but screws would also work fine. The screw heads could be hidden with plug, filler or just painted over.
I painted the wood with a dark grey exterior paint then I could fill the tubs up. I filled them with some well drained compost then planted some lavender plugs.
With the planters either side of the door I think it really makes the front of the house look smarter.
