Industrial Style Coffee Table

Untitled design-3.jpg

I received a commission to make an industrial style coffee table on wheels. I wanted to to gave a rustic chunky look so I decided to make it out of some reclaimed scaffold boards.

First I got the metal bands removed from the boards then I could get them all planned down. I used the table saw to cut them to length and had to joint a few boards together to get the width of table I wanted.

The table is going together in a box shape with 4 sides. To join the parts together I used dowels and a triton Dowling machine but any jig would work. With glue applied and the dowels installed I used clamps to pull the joint closed.

When the glue had dried I could give it all a sand down and apply some hard wax oil finish to give it an aged look.

To finish it off I added some cast iron wheels and I rusted some L brakes to add to the corners.

Thats it all done and off to its new home. For more information about what I did please watch the video bellow.
